Dr Shanker-Butler is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with a special interest in eating disorders, who has experience working with young people and their families in the assessment and management of a variety of psychiatric disorders, including anxiety, obsessive compulsive and mood disorders.
Dr Shanker-Butler completed her Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery at Monash University, before completing a Master of Psychiatry at the University of Melbourne. She is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, where she is a member of the Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Dr Shanker-Butler has previously worked at Austin Health in Heidelberg, in various inpatient and community roles, including an extended period with the specialist Adolescent and Child Eating Disorder team. Currently, Dr Shanker-Butler works at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead with the Eating Disorder program.
Dr Shanker-Butler works at Redleaf on Thursdays, however currently her books are closed to new patients.
